Is the Recession Already Here?

One business that usually does well in down economic times is do-it-yourself or home improvement stores. You take on projects yourself like painting and lawn care that you would normally hire others to do when times are good. You might even take on bigger projects you would not normally consider.

If you make $1000 a week, why scrub your own toilets?

I see landscapers everywhere in South Florida. Mostly immigrant crews. Legal or illegal? I don’t know and frankly don’t care.

But Home Depot’s sales are down 26% from last year. I was in to purchase some materials a few days before Christmas, and the checkout lines were not even long.

If a so-called recession proof business is already in a recession, are we now in a depression without knowing it?

Marketing Guru Beatdown

Affiliate marketing “gurus” fall into 2 major schools:

1. build an email list of opt in subscribers and hammer it with offers

or

2. open a Google Adwords account and pay for targeted visitors to your affiliate link

Do these marketing techniques work? Sure. For a few non-scanners. And these methods are not working as well for the gurus as they once did.

Why do you think there are so many free ebooks available now teaching list building and Pay Per Click? If you download the free ebook, you subscribe to their list. You agree to get hammered when the guru comes up with a new method of marketing that might actually work for you.

Why are lists and PPC not working the way they once did?

1. spam is killing email

and

2. Google and the other PPC search engines are making it harder and more expensive to promote affiliate links

Your email inbox is likely so full of Nigerian bank scams, penis enlargement, fake watches, get-rich-quick schemes, and Viagra ads that you may well delete 80% of you email before reading anything.

If you are really smart, you use a web-based email account to join all newsletters, and then delete all of the email in that account after you get the free stuff for subscribing.

Be honest. If you really want to send a text message to someone, don’t you use your cell phone instead?

My daughters texts me. My wife texts me. I text them back. No spam. No email filters. No delays.

Even the biggest list marketing “gurus” have been shut down by their web hosts in the middle of a sales campaign by bogus spam charges.

Your ISP is not your friend. They will shut you down in a nanosecond and ask questions later.

Some of the best affiliate marketers made their bones on PPC advertising. Four years ago. Which is something like 100 years ago in Internet time.

As soon as some clever marketer comes up with a way to make good money online, in come the copycats and the vultures. Google changes the rules, and everyone gets screwed. Except Google.

Even the affiliate merchants themselves will prohibit affiliates from bidding on the most lucrative keywords.

Affiliate marketing for scanners is not about:

- building a list
- writing a newsletter
- publishing an ezine
- PPC
- email list marketing
- black hat
- cloaking
- banners
- classifieds
- SEO tricks

It’s amazing. The big guys let the little guys discover new profit niches, then they change the rules and steal the pie instead of sharing it.

Fight Back. Don’t Fight Yourself.

You can start today to make money with affiliate marketing using totally free resources. Once you get your feet wet, you can then set up your own web host, domains, and websites.

What other business lets you test the market free before investing?

To save time, I am going to ask you for a micro-investment?

Why?

Because the Devil is in the details. I bet you can smell the sulphur.

For a one-time $9.29 via Pay Pal or your credit card, you can instantly download Affiliate Marketing for Scanners, which covers the 2 Critical Activities that every affiliate marketer must do to succeed.

Only 2. All the other marketing techniques are dessert.

These Critical Activities are so fundamental that the search engines could not exist without them.

Beat the Googles of the world and stare down the Devil for $9.29. You are smarter, faster, better, and more innovative than the big boys could ever hope to be.

What do you do for a living?

The core conflict for scanners is that we let others confine us with the question, “What do you do for a living?” or its cousin, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

How many lovers have told you to grow up? Not enough fingers and toes to count? You are not alone.

In the U.S., we judge and label people based on their occupations. Status attaches to certain jobs like doctors and lawyers. We call them professionals, but each is really just a job in snob’s clothing.

Critical Activities for Affiliate Marketing

Critical Activities for Affiliate Marketing

by Charles Lamm

The one marketing activity that will never be blocked by the search engines is fresh, original content.

Never.

The search engines are thirsty for content. Dying for it. Can’t live without it.

People use search engines to find INFORMATION. They don’t go searching for ads, but ads is a lot of what they find.

If your surfer has a choice between a well-written article with a link to a recommended product or service, or an in-your-face flash banner with audio blaring, what do you think they will choose?

This brings us to the two critical activities all affiliate marketers must do:

  1. Create content with links to your affiliate products.

  1. Build a network of friends and prospects via email, blogs, rss feeds, and social networking sites.

You can learn Search Engine Optimization tricks and tips later. SEO matters, but not until after you have content and places to display it in place. It is beyond the scope of this ebook to teach you to market your affiliate campaigns. We need to concentrate on setting up the campaigns in the first place in Scanner Expert Optimized fashion.

Be the Goal

Be the Goal

by Charles Lamm

External goals are the enemy, a prescription for failure. Giving your personal power away to the prison of goals guarantees defeat. Why put yourself through it?

Be the goal.

Think about all the problems you have in life that stimulate you to create goals. You even work hard to make sure your goals are measurable and have a deadline.

Few of us have not succumbed to ambitious objectives much like these:

· Lose 20 pounds before the class reunion next month.

· Become a millionaire in 5 years.

· Workout at the gym 3 times a week.

· Cut out all junk food from your diet.

· Spend 1 hour a night helping the kids with their homework.

Then, life gets in the way.

Your boss needs a proposal for your major client by 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. You brew a pot of coffee, open a box of donuts, forget the gym, leave the kids to their own devices, and start to work – on your own time.

If you define success with external goals, life will assure your failure.

Be the goal.

If you are to be the financially successful, physically fit, nurturing parent you have created in your mind, no one interruption from reality can stop you from being you.

All “problems” have one common denominator – you.

Your problems do not exist without you. You and you alone are responsible for everything that happens in your life. The situation may not be your fault, but you are responsible.

How can anyone else be responsible for you?

Boss requires you to work late? It’s your responsibility.

Kids failing in school? It’s your responsibility.

Gasping for air walking up a flight of stairs? It’s your responsibility.

Allow your mind to simmer and create the solutions.

Be the goal.
